Sinopsis Drama The Heavenly Idol (2023):
Secara garis besar, The Heavenly Idol berfokus pada kisah seorang pendeta tingkat tinggi yang dipindahkan ke dunia lain karena sihir iblis. Tak disangka, dia justru terjebak dalam tubuh pria tampan yang berprofesi sebagai idola namun tidak terlalu terkenal. Kisah bermula ketika seorang Pontifex Lembrary (diperankan oleh Kim Min Kyu) bertarung melawan iblis dan berujung pada pemindahan jiwa ke dunia lain secara acak.
Setelah sadar berpindah raga, Pontifex Lembrary menemukan dirinya berada di asrama kecil dan merasuki tubuh pria muda bernama Woo Yeon Woo. Dia adalah artis sekaligus anggota dari grup idola Wild Animal. Diketahui, Wild Animal sudah berkarier selama 3 tahun, namun tidak populer, kurang sukses, dan hampir bubar.
Tak lama setelah Pontifex Lembrary memasuki tubuh Woo Yeon Woo, dia ditugaskan tampil di atas panggung untuk pertunjukan di stasiun penyiaran bersama Wild Animal. Ketika musik mulai diputar, Pontifex Lembrary tiba-tiba berteriak, “Saya tidak tahu cara menari.” Alhasil, pertunjukan siaran langsung pun berubah menjadi bencana, namun berhasil menarik perhatian masyarakat.
Dengan pesona dan sikap percaya dirinya, Woon Yeon Woo yang masih dirasuki oleh roh Pontifex Lembrary perlahan menjadi semakin populer. Hal ini pun berdampak baik pada grup Wild Animal.
Meski begitu, Pontifex Lembrary masih harus membiasakan diri untuk menjalani kehidupan sebagai seorang idola. Dia juga harus menghadapi berbagai masalah, seperti berurusan dengan setan dan kelompok agama yang menyimpang serta aneh.
